Gros Morne National Park or the Big Gloom
So here we are still in Newfoundland and we are visiting Gros Morne National Park or the literal translation "the big gloom." Almost the entire time that we were in Newfoundland it was Gloomy. I felt like I was back in Washington. Even though it was very gloomy we loved all of the views that Newfoundland had to offer. While there we went on a boat tour up the fjords of Gros Morne. It was a long hike in of a couple of hours which doesn't seem bad but it is when you have two little ones. All in all they had to do a 10K that day and miss their naps because they went on a three hour boat ride.
The boat ride was spectacular. They told us the history of the fjords and how they had been carved by glaciers thousands of years ago. The rugged mountains reached over 2,000 feet from the base to the top and it was amazing to take a boat right through both sides of the cliffs. There were tons of beautiful waterfalls on the way that were spectacular to see since some of them fell for hundreds of feet.
